Apprentice Herbalist Certification -
Year 2 for Intermediate
This weekly intermediate herbalism online program provides the core foundation for a modern, inclusive herbal practitioner including:
○ Introductory Clinical Knowledge
○ Advanced Medicine Making
○ Foundations of Body Systems
○ Herbal Entrepreneurship
Over the course of 9 months, you'll build a structured comprehensive base for a clinically-minded, cross-cultural approach to herbal medicine and go beyond folk practices with live-tutorial demos on weight to volume tinctures, glycerites, oil infusions, bitters, salves, creams, cordials, and oxymels.
New in 2025, we have an optional in-person week-long retreat July 7-11 at the California School of Herbal Studies in Sonoma County, CA, to dive into therapeutics, Ayurveda Pulse, tongue diagnosis, herbal medicine making from the garden, and food as medicine. This in-person experience will get each student an additional 20 hours of training, which will be reflected on their graduation certificate.

19 TEACHING VOICES
You get a front row (in-home) seat to teachings from Registered Herbalists, Practitioners, Medicine Makers, Nutritionists, and Lineage Holders.
9 MONTH PROGRAM
Live classes meet monthy from February to November on the 2nd Weekend of the Month from 9AM - 3PM PST and every Tuesday from 5:30-8:30PM PST.
IN-PERSON RETREAT
NEW in 2025, we are offering an in-person immersion at the California School of Herbal Studies in Sonoma County, CA on July 7-11, 2025. This is optional for registered students.

RETREAT AT THE CALIFORNIA SCHOOL OF HERBAL STUDIES
New in 2025, we are meeting in-person to connect with the land and meet one another on the historic land of California School of Herbal Studies founded in 1978 by Rosemary Gladstar, on the unceded, traditional territory of the Southern Pomo, Coast Miwok and the Federated Tribes of Graton Rancheria.
The week will begin by diving into the foundations of Ayurveda Pulse, while throughout the week will be making medicine from the abundant medicinal garden, learning how to prepare medicinal foods and their histories, and learning about seeing clients in person.
This optional in-person retreat is for current registered students only.
