Come join Verse Teachers at the California School of Herbal Studies July 7-11 to connect with one another and the plants. We are gathering herbal medicine students and graduates from Land of Verse to join in-person for this transformative retreat at the in Forestville, CA.
This first annual retreat is to connect our online experiences, to in-person connections, building stronger bonds with teachers and fellow students.
During our 5 days together all of our classes will be held at CSHS in the garden, outside. We will be engaging in classes such as:
-
Ayurvedic Pulse - it is imperative to be in person when diving into the vast world of pulse diagnostics. With the guidance of Drea Moore, we will be working on the multiple levels of the pulse, including the organ systems. Pulse diagnostics will be practiced daily during the retreat.
-
Medicine Making + Formulations - we are blessed to be sharing time at the beautiful California School during the height of summer. We will be gathering and processing the local, seasonal plants that are ready for harvesting. Medicine making will include: teas, tinctures, elixirs, and body oils.
-
Clinical Skills - For those students that are venturing into a clinical practice, we have Erin Masako Wilkins and Laura Ash to support a healthy, powerful entry into a clinical settings. We will go over tongue diagnostics, intake, and procedures. There will be time to have some mock sessions with fellow students.
-
Black North American Herbalism - we are honored to have Shereel Washing join us for an afternoon to teach us about summer herbs and foods in her tradition. We will cook collard greens, eat watermelon, and discuss Black traditions of herbalism.
The connection to the land and to one another is the most essential component of this retreat.
After registration, you will be added to our Slack community to organize carpools and room sharing.
See you this summer!
